It is my privilege to write a letter of support for Rep. Austen Schauer of West Fargo as he seeks re-election in the upcoming primary election.

Although I have known Austen for several years, I did not have the opportunity to work closely with him in the Legislature until the 2025 session. During that session, I was pursuing legislation that would allow CPA firms to offer Employee Stock Ownership Plans (ESOPs) to their employees.

Austen was instrumental throughout the entire process. He helped move the bill from its initial drafting by state attorneys, through a House committee, and then to passage on the House floor.

He continued working to advance the bill through a Senate committee and ultimately through final passage in the Senate.

The governor has now signed the bill into law. This legislation is good for CPA firms, good for employees, and good for North Dakota.

Austen Schauer understands how to work collaboratively and effectively to get meaningful results for our state. I appreciate his leadership and dedication, and I encourage West Fargo voters to support him on June 9.
